Progress...

holy moly, how time flies. its snowed lastnight and made me realize just exactly how much time had passed since I last posted!  illness, busy-ness and a crappy computer are all to blame.  as the holidays approach, craftiness trumps studio art. life goes on, middle boy goes to first dance and first born gets
accepted and offered $ to go to University. mama needs to make alot of crafts!!!

im working on a large commission that's too shy to show just yet.

life is nothing but full

wishing you all warm autumn love,

xo milady

i am working on a large commission that is just too shy to show itself just yet.

i hope you are enjoying the autumn changes and bundling up against the promise of more snow!

Empty Net - drawing challenge ; FISH

People say our fish are disappearing, their size shrinking, our world going down the drain.

I went for a dive, deep into the unknown. I saw a giant mythological fish with its jaws wide open

waiting for me to fall. I swam as fast as I could to the surface and once in the boat had a peek

in my net. To my suprise, I cracked the mollusk to find an assortment of pearls, little people

ghostly and sweet, forgotten now found, whipsering of life as we once knew it.

see you tomorrow for SHEEP!

Morning Train

Olaf Hajek , Berlin

follow me on my morning train around the world over a cup of coffee. picture this, its mid march and it looks like christmas outside. a white out. again. when the sun does come out i can look forward to mud up to my ankles. i'm more than ready for a tulip or 3! getting the picture?

kids off to school, me still in pj's, clean up a little, just enough so i can justify time spent what im about to do...start my day waking up the artist in hibernation & go on a little adventure, knowing full well i'll get lost and wander, happily i might add, into other artists work, worlds, which lead me to other artists worlds etc..etc....
all aboard?
let's go!
1. check my blog, no comments :( feeling alone in the world... ) boo hoo

2. think 'll go to Pikaland (good day miss Amy!) and see what's up with Benconservato's monster giveaway

3.then, some delighful kitties catch my eye on the left side bar, click, ah yes!Jamie Shelman (get stuck over here for a while and do some homework for assignment#6

4. what's this? her blog? click, click , click (get jealous of people who go to museums and wear nice coats and eat fancy macaroons ) and find....

5. Carson Ellis and Catherine Campbell,oh yes, i remember these guys! and then the Devon Rex kitties which remind me of dear Elisabeth.

6. here i also discover Olaf Hajek, get lost in his wild bouquets... and Sarah Mcneil, had to check her out because she reminded me of my life in Sydney and trips to Manly where i too could enjoy gelato and wear something on my feet other than snowboots. at some point i discover this delightful little film. so cute.

7. save , click , fight with text links..lose my entire train route of hyperlinks...want to cry...

8. backtrack my steps and redo all the links... look outside. still snowing. 9. alot of time passes ...

10.coffee freezing cold, still in pj's, i'm back from my travels.

11. who wants to do taxes anyway?

xo milady

Busy Kitchen

The Hungry Fox by Roscoe Stone Rogers

Portrait of Lucky by Stephanie Morgan Rogers

The last few weeks have been crazy in my kitchen. I gave up trying to compartmentalize different activities in different rooms and invited it all into my main digs...the kitch. Accounting for 3 businesses took up one long table top while the table we're supposed to eat on was getting a new Jackson Pollack makeover from the little brothers as they created their masterpieces. The cat joined in by laying on and proceeding to eat important documents, while the dog stepped in blobs of paint and tracked it all over my stone floors. But Dad Gummit....look what we achieved!

I'm so proud of my little boy's BIG art. They really got into it...stood back and pondered, added a bit of this and a dab of that...until the magical moment of i'm-doneness made itself known.

I can't wait to take the show down and find homes for these on my walls...they are so awesome, some of the best folk art i've seen in a while. hmmmm(evil paw rubbing) maybe an etsy shop is in order? college funds? ok...maybe just a trip to the movies!
