Fair Fair and the Great Train Wreck's a Coming

roscoe the brave has been trying out his duds for weeks now

getting in the spirit of the old west
watchin old men on tractors doing donuts
eating dirt for lunch and dinner
getting chased around a parking lot by a boy and his chicken

watching the kids scrub, trim, clip and shine their stock

and putting on their best for show

anticipating the full stands tomorrow
rumored guests include past presidents and Ralph Lauren etc....
while the big sister puts the finishing touches on her retro cowgirl shirt
in preparation for grand entrance
as the Queen.

Small town rodeo and fair. It's an American tradition.
I feel lucky to dip a toe or two in it.

the train wreck?
oh, the very next day after is dramatic finish to the summer
is the first day of school.

ugh

Have fun!

Those young lads are very handsome!

Kisses to the Queen, and give my best to RL! (I'd be a bit excited to hear the past President was going to be Ronald Reagan, but I guess that's not likely).

Dear Milady,
and I feel lucky to dip a toe through your eyes/art farm in it!
Thank you for sharing... I mean it! I'm longing for your west - thats really surprising me, the old European.

Your Roscoe is brave and very smart!

Love,
Ariane.

Hello friends from afar!
I feel as interested in it as you ARiane - old European that i am in milady's soul. I live in such a small little corner of the the American West where tradition still has a hold. I thought I should start showing the world what i am seeing here. The change, the old getting mowed over by the new. One of the last family owned ranching valleys in America.
It's a story- and stories are my favorite.
Carmel - actually, the big HUSH is the Bush family is here, afterall, their niece, is marrying Ralph's son today at the ranch.I'll go give RL a hug for you!
Woolfie- western ho down atmosphere, thank you for noticing that! the boy with the chicken had it backwards and was chasing kids around like a gun.
