Homeward Bound

i live in a far away valley at the edge of a great wood out west. i sniffed out this patch of dirt
with my hound dog heart, dug a lil hole and settled in. its home to my roots in spirit not place
where little girls play in simple cotton dresses a long, long time ago. i will always feel the safest
here when little green buds come back to remind me.

where do you feel most at home?

Oh my God, dear Milady, Milady Stephanie,
so very nice pictures and... and your words...! During reading and translating my blood fills my heart more and more, my stomach turns warm, hot.
But, I can't answer. I dont know, where I feel most at home. Deep in my heart I've the feeling I lost home...or I've got many homes. Or in me. And as finelittleday Elisabeth said: where ever my family is I feel most at home.

Love your 'ratty and stained' quilts, Milady! Wonderful.

xo Ariane.

I'll have to repeat the words: wherever my family is. I depend on my family. And on all those homes I carry with me on the inside, in the memories, in the imagination.

I love those quilts. The sheep. The sky!

And I am so very definitely in for the lamb challenge!

you lucky hound dog! to live in such a place...
i feel at home in the midst of an orange orchard with the blossoms in full bloom under the california sun. that is where I grew up and played, but my heart, my summer vacations, my birthplace is in oregon and that is where I want to call home someday.
i love all your photos and the bits of your home that you share with us. i can feel the calmness and quiet of this place, besides the glorious sound of children and animals about, that is.
